History of Islamic Center of Orlando

The Islamic Center of Orlando was incorporated in the State of Florida 1988. The Masjid is located at 11543 Ruby Lake Road, Orlando, FL 32836. It is fully paid for and owned by the Muslim community.

Ideology

The sources of Islam are the Holy Quran and the tradition of Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him).
  • Islam is a universal mercy of God. Members identify themselves primarily as Muslims not by an ethnic group, race, color, or tribe
  • The official language of communication and conducting activities of the Center is English
  • The affairs of the Masjid should be handled through consultation ('Shura' in Arabic), discipline and organization
  • The Center is dedicated to using technology in all of its communications and endeavors
  • While advocating the codes and ethics of Islamic behavior, we believe that there should be no compulsion in religion, and that the consideration of feelings of all human beings is paramount

Islamic Center of Orlando strives to practice and present Islam in the United States of America by providing religious, educational and social activities for Muslims and non-Muslims. Our goal is to develop and promote a socially responsible Muslim-American identity.

The Islamic Center of Orlando is one of the leading Islamic organizations that aims to integrate Muslim-Americans into our pluralistic American society. This requires working in harmony with other faith groups and civic organizations to enhance our collective future. We promote Islam's celebration of life and its inclusive nature. We provide education and services that advance justice and promote compassion and freedom.
