Executive Director

About the role

The Executive Director will play a crucial leadership role in overseeing the overall vision, strategy, and operations of the
Islamic Center of Orlando (ICO). This position requires a dynamic and visionary leader who can guide the Masjid towards
achieving its mission and goals, working collaboratively with the Imam, the Executive Committee, and all of their subcommittees.

Candidate requirements

• 5-10 years of progressive leadership experience in a similar capacity, preferably within a religious or community-based organization.
• Demonstrated success in strategic planning, organizational development, and team management.
• Proven ability to foster positive relationships with diverse community members, stakeholders, and external partners.
• Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, fundraising, and financial management.
• Exceptional communication and public speaking skills.
• Passionate commitment to the Islamic values and principles upheld by ICO.
• Master's degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field is preferred.
  
  

Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership:
  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors and work closely with the Imam to develop and implement the strategic
    vision and mission of ICO.
  • Provide visionary leadership to guide the Masjid in achieving its short-term and long-term goals.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with community members, local organizations, and other
    stakeholders.
    
• Operational Oversight:
• Ensure the efficient and effective day-to-day operations of ICO.
• Supervise and lead the staff and the volunteers, providing guidance and support to ensure a cohesive and motivated team.
  
• Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures for improved organizational efficiency.
• Collaborate with the Executive Committee and all subcommittees to ensure coordinated efforts and seamless communication.
  
•  Financial Management:
  
  • Develop and manage the annual budget in collaboration with the Board of Directors.
  • Lead fundraising initiatives and seek external funding opportunities to support Masjid programs and projects.
    
• Community Engagement & Public relations:
  • Facilitate community outreach and engagement initiatives to strengthen ties with the broader community.
  •  Plan and execute events that promote unity, education, and interfaith dialogue within the community.
  • Work closely with the Imam to be a spokesperson for ICO, representing the Masjid effectively in various forums.
  • Develop and implement communication strategies to enhance the visibility and positive image of ICO.
